CW: Car accident, head injury, memory loss

Well that was safe and predictable.

This is another cookie cutter YA romance so it will have huge appeal in a high school library for those who like formulaic romances. The main character is tolerable and I liked the premise. I do have some issues with the story behind the hearts, her sister, best-friend and boyfriend staged the heart scavenger hunt to try and trigger her memory because after the accident, she didn't remember the best-friend and boyfriend. They let her go back to her old friends that she had had a falling out with and kept her in the dark for a year after the accident and subsequent memory loss. She felt incredibly betrayed and manipulated when she discovered they had staged the heart trail.but I think Ella handled this well and expressed her concerns about how and why things unfolded the way they did. Just okay for me but think it will go well in the library.… (meer)
