Stephen B. Haunts

This book is a short novella dealing with a specific character – Simms. It is an interesting concept, confining a prisoner to a virtual reality world as a form of rehabilitation. It means they are not a danger to the public and need minimal supervision. The story is a cross between Robinson Crusoe (without the racism) and the Truman Show (for those old enough to remember). It is a story of survival on a desert island, with all the necessary skills and there is a good level of interaction between Simms and his companion Jane. Like all books by this author, it is clean, well-structured and easy to read. I did find this book a little slow, it is not as energetic as the others, but it was still a good read. I would say it is aimed at 9-12 year olds.… (meer)
