Great for parents and teachers!

Bilingual book about keeping germs to yourself (written pre-COVID) and not getting others sick. Mx liked this one. Ms indifferent.

Originally published in 2004. What a great book, and a much needed book, for young children today. I purchased this for $.25, yes, just .25 cents, from our local library sale. This one goes to my daughter-in-law for her Kindergarten class.

"Words Are Not for Hurting" is an excellent book that illustrates that what we say to other people has an impact on them. It teaches a very simple concept that many adults do not understand either. I feel this book is excellent in teaching social skills, community, responsibility, and kindness. I loved the illustrations as they showed a disabled child in a wheelchair as well as many different cultural groups. They portrayed a very important idea that really needs to be shared with young and old alike in the world we live in.

Liked how it introduced the idea of a pet's hissing or growling to mean "hands off." We have used that quite a bit lately.

Just ok. I feel like saying something is NOT for a thing just makes my child want to do what I've said to not do.

This book explains how germs are everywhere and lets kids know that germs are very small and can't be seen. It also teaches them what to do if they need to sneeze and how to wash their hands. Along with teaching kids how to wash their hands, this book also lists the ten good times to wash their hands.

This book is so adorable. I liked the illustrations--they aren't overly adorned or complicated. They're just right for this age group. The kids look happy, which further shows the association between good health and a positive disposition. Kids can easily grasp the concept. The lessons in this book are priceless, especially during this time. It is educational without bombarding a kid with too much information.

This book explains, with simple language and clear illustrations, what germs are and how they are shared. 10 rules (one for each finger) are given for when to wash your hands. The last few pages include more detailed information about germs that can be used for discussion with elementary and older children.

For children 1-5. This book is about children interacting with their pets and who to treat animals. This will help with children curiosity, leaning how to interact with pets, with emotional support, decision making.

I thought the way book was presented was very nice. It used simple text. I liked that it presented a bunch of other options of what we could do with our feet. I personally used this book with one of my challenging students and I think it the point of the book really came across. Ever since we used this book with her and we've read it multiple times, she hasn't been kicking and hitting others as often.

Show's children words can be all sorts of things and mean just as much, but sometimes we say mean thing's when we shouldn't. Using I'm Sorry helps though.

This book is good for teaching young ones to be gentle with their pets. We use gentle caring hands when it comes to playing with your pets. It's a very simple read for young readers to follow along. The pictures are colorful and simple for little eyes.
