Prairie School of the Prophets is the standard history of Concordia Theological Seminary. Written in accessible language, it covers well the history of this 161 year old school for training pastors from its beginnings in Fort Wayne, Indiana, through its days in St. Louis and Springfield up until its return to Fort Wayne in 1976. It's one weakness -- the lack of an index. Recommended for those interested in the history of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, Fort Wayne and theological education in general.… (meer)
