A great read. This is the biographical story of the Author - a British Doctor who went to work on the DEW line (Distant Early Warning Line) in the mid 1950s. The story is told in a matter-of-fact manner and gives the reader a great insight into the horrendous job that it was for all concerned. The flying conditions, the medical practice difficulties, the psycological effect it had on the crews and the manner of special people that moved into the area to provide the basic simple social services.
