Sitting in the school's library, I grabbed this little book from the geography section. I read the entire book in no time, but I was baffled by its categorization in the nonfiction section.

This book follows the travesl of two children as they follow a ball through all fifty states. One page is devoted to each state. The pages are humorously illustrated with cartoons that include each state's bird and flower. The top of each page is decorated with a postcard that the two children are sending to a friend back home in Oregon. Each postcard contains facts about each state. At the bottom of each page there is a poem about the children's adventure following the ball.

The story about the traveling ball and the two children who chased it through all fifty states is obviously fictitious. So why is this book is placed on the shelf in the 917 category?… (meer)
