In some ways a really good book. Issues I had that kept it from 4 stars: honestly the heroine is a serious bitch for much of the book. Not much room to be sympathetic to her plight. Also, the author chooses to skip huge parts of the story and just pick up the narrative in the next chapter days (more than a week) later. This makes it seem choppy, and contributes to the lack of connection. The ending is just weird and loose. It reads more as a HFN than HEA, and too much is up in the air with too little interaction between the H and h. But the overall story arc is good, as well as the parts that are written. To me this didn't feel like it was part of the ARR Until World.
I was confused who Falco was going to be with obviously until he mentions' Boom'.
It took too long to connect with his Boom.
It was distracting with the other woman who he almost had sex with (they had been in a sexual relationship with each other before)after her met his Boom woman and a few hours before seeing her again.
Also although it's dual POV, it is the Hero and the other is not the heroine.
As the 2nd POV is the non-heroine, it mean that we spent to much time with a secondary character. For me that didn't work.
Not really insta, to me anyway.
The connection to ARR is Nico.
In a comment about Kindle world it was said that other authors can add their book using characters connected to the main series from the original author and they are free to use their own writing style but in my opinion this book doesn't belong in this series or be listed connected to it so readers will think it has been written along the same vein.… (meer)
