Fun, romantic, and mysterious!

Grandma Got Run Over By A Demon by Olivia Jaymes is a fun romp in a town with lots of supernaturals. There is a Reaper or two, spell casters , ghosts, good and bad demons and more. The small clan of fighters against evil needs to find out who the bad demon is and get rid of them, where the portal is and close it, and who stole the town's historic history book! It takes a trip to literal Hell to get some answers!
Fun story with great characters and plot! Witty and creative!

This is a completely different type of Olivia Jaymes book, but it is just as wonderful as you would expect from her. It is well written. The story is fully explored. Thank God, there will be more of them. The book moved at a steady pace with just enough to keep you intrigued, but you won't feel overwhelmed. You can see the other romances that are building so I am guessing it will be one romance kindled per book while still maintaining the bigger plot picture. I am just as involved with the couple as I am with the big picture. I am dying for Book 2 so maybe I can start piecing together the whodunit. Whether you are a new or already proven lover of Olivia Jaymes, if you like romance and a good mystery, you will want to read this.

My Review

I love stories about actors, especially when they fall in love!(Starstruck by Nancy Frederick) I could have done with out the descriptive sex scenes. The wedding seemed rushed, as Nate mentioned marriage but not yet and then..... six months later! Good story.

Two very stubborn people get a second chance at love. Caleb and Michaela were childhood sweethearts. Caleb always had big dreams to leave the small town of Applewood and had hoped that Michaela would go with him when that time came. But something tragic happened to Michaela's sister in which just weeks after giving birth she died leaving Michaela to raise her son on her own. Her outlook on life changed and her fear of moving to Chicago where Caleb's new job as a FBI agent was caused a rift that broke these two up and left hard feelings between them.

Now almost 10 years later Caleb is back in Applewood disgraced from his job and to help his father with the care of his mother who had a mild stroke. He never saw himself losing the job he loved and having to return home with his tail between his legs. He also knows with Applewood being such a small town there is now way he can avoid seeing Michaela who he's never quite forgiven but also never forgotten.

Michaela never thought she had a choice all those years ago. She did what she thought was right for her sister's son. She's never forgiven Caleb for leaving her and is not happy he is back in town dredging up feelings she thought were dead.

These two were so freggin stubborn and neither wanting to admit to whose fault it was the relationship didnt work out. Once they had it out over past hurts it was Caleb that decided this time he was going to fight for what he wanted even though Michaela was leery about putting her heart out there again because this time it wouldnt just be her that would be hurt it would also be her son who has become attached to Caleb.

Short, sweet and a great ending.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: You can’t go home again, but if you do, pretend you want to be there.

Dr. Madison Shay has left Chicago and moved back to her small town roots to take over her father’s medical practice. She’s not the skinny, gawky red haired, four-eyed girl any longer but it sure feels that way. She still remembers the painful teasing from her classmates and always feeling like she didn’t belong. She wants this time to be different but deep down she knows she’ll never be part of the cool crowd.

Sheriff Tanner Marks might have been the captain of the football team years ago but things aren’t as rosy now. He has a son who hates him, and an ex-wife who is about to marry a man Tanner thinks might be a criminal. He doesn’t really have time in his life for a woman. Considering the things he’s done in his past, he’s not sure he deserves one either. He can’t help but feel envious of his friend, Seth Reilly, though. He found the love of a good woman. Is it too much to ask that fate send him someone as well?

Madison and Tanner aren’t looking for love but it feels like the town has other plans. They keep finding themselves thrown together and it’s not unpleasant in the least. In fact, they’re starting to enjoy themselves. There just might be a future for them after all.

When a drug war between two cartels breaks out, their little town is caught in the crossfire. Tanner will call in every favor he can, from the five cowboy cops he trusts most in the world, to keep his town and the woman he loves safe. He’s going to show the bad guys what cowboy justice really means.

Publisher’s warning: This book contains hot sex scenes between a sexy small town sheriff and his very lucky woman, including action in the shower, on the kitchen table, and in front of a roaring fire.

Series description:
The Cowboy Justice Association is a group of six lawmen in Montana who work together to keep the peace. If only they could find that peace in their own lives.½

Justice Healed (Cowboy Justice Association Book 2) by Olivia Jaymes

Olivia Jaymes was a new author for me, the subject matter looked like it would have the elements of a good read, and the
e-book was free. What more could I ask for at this point?

Justice Healed, turned out to be a fun, playful, true to life themed story, with a bit of suspense, and a fair bit of action. The plot was simple but well written, with additional side threads to add complexity and dimension to the story, as well as expanding on the lives and roles of the 5 other cowboys /officers.

The romance was tender and sweet, growing from smoldering to hot. It was nice to read a book where both the H/h were well out of their twenties, educated, employed, and not perfect. The sex scenes were tasteful, and complementary to the story line, never becoming the focus of the books plot. I enjoyed the playfulness, locations and sexual attitudes of Tanner and Madison, I felt like they actually enjoyed being with each other, and finding ways to bring further enjoyment to each other.

The dialogue and reactions of the characters was realistic, the action scenes filled with tension, and the chemistry between Tanner and Madison strong. I have to complement the author on leaving no portions of the plot dangling or left unresolved, there is no cliffhanger - in fact this book can be read as a standalone, even though the 6 main cowboys/officers will each have their own books, and I suspect cameos by characters we have already meet.

I enjoyed the ease of reading, characters, the town, and the overall premise of the series and suspect that I will be back for a visit as the other books in the series are published..

I would recommend this audiobook to all my friends who like mysteries with a little bit of romance. It is well narrated and the story has a good pace. I liked the narrator's tone of voice and expression. He has a nice voice, easy to listen to.

I liked the story and will definitely be looking out for the rest of the series. The mystery was good and interesting. The many twists and turns kept me entertained and had me guessing right to the end.
Both Jason and Brinley are well developed and likeable characters. They each have a detailed and interesting back story. Jason also has good friends and brothers who supported the story and I liked their teasing banter which added some humour to the story.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
