This book had the potential to be a great story, but it is anticlimatic and wraps up too quickly. A more developed story Nashasha's emotional and physical transition would greatly improve this book. This author tried to cover bullying, elder teaching, dealing with death, overcoming fears, finding your place in the world and vindication. Choppy story that lost it fluidity half way through.

But I did enjoy that the Navajo version of the story is one each page above the English translation. This is very helpful to parents, teacher and people who are learning the Navajo language.… (meer)
