I was so excited to get to read an ARC of Autumn Kaufer’s latest book! Princess Wisteria of the fae fire court is being forced to marry a man she doesn’t know and doesn’t love in two weeks’ time in a political arranged marriage, and when she discovers his cruelty, escapes her parent’s castle and hides out as “Rhea” working in a bakery in disguise. But a year later she’s captured by Argus, a bounty hunter who puts her in iron cuffs and comes to take her back to her parents. And then our captive enemies-to-lovers romantasy tale begins! I loved the classic fairy tale feel of this. It was charming and cozy, spicy and romantic. I loved the dynamic between Wisteria/Rhea and Argus, as their feelings for one another grow even as she’s his captive. Will feelings be strong enough to stand the test of betrayal? Fairytale lovers will enjoy this spicy romance novella! 5/5 stars

COURTING ETERNITY returns us to Rafe and Ana’s world for book three of their epic fantasy saga. Ana makes some new discoveries about powers she holds, and learns more about her past and her mother especially (these were some of my favorite scenes!) But she still has many enemies and attempts against her life are frequent. She and Rafe have a strong connection that grows with every book in the series and even as Ana continues to struggle with her PTSD and anxiety, Rafe is always there to help her, as her support and guidance, and seeing how strong their love is provides moments of joy between the fraught times. Friends Kara Evren are there as always, and as everyone plans for the upcoming Frost Festival, there are fun trips to the market (I loved these) and perhaps even a special new pet for Ana! Flight training presents a challenge, but one knows with friends like Ana has, she’ll get it eventually. I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to book 4. 5/5 stars.

I love each of A.R. Kaufer’s book even more than the last and KINGDOM OF FORGOTTEN CURSES, a Beauty and the Beast retelling, with a vampire twist, hit all the perfect notes for my fairy tale and paranormal romance loving heart! Fans of the classic fairy tale will love how gothic and true to form this stays. Prince Dracke is cursed and turned into a vampire and must get someone to fall in love with him to break his curse. Bells or “Mira” is the daughter of the king’s barrister who comes to visit his estate decades later. I loved all their scenes together, from helping in the library, to the scenes with Celine the housekeeper, to the side plot with Gustave, and the scenes with her sisters. So well written! Kaufer’s books always have twists I don’t see coming and this was no exception! (I found some of the surprises neat.) I liked the resolutions at the end. Recommended for Beauty and the Beast and Dracula fans! 5/5 stars.

I’m so happy to be back with Ana and Rafe and the gang in Courting Destiny! I loved book one and I loved book two even more! This second book in the series picks up directly after the first left off with Ana experiencing a traumatic event and the result of that leaves her changed in a way that on the one hand, readers are like, THAT’S AWESOME, but from Ana’s point of view… it’s still a trauma, and I liked how the writing handled that, just like I loved how so much of book one focused on Ana’s PTSD. Ana has to adjust to the changes in her body and just like in book one, she is surrounded by a close-knit circle of found family in Rafe, Kara and Evren who will protect her and help her to deal with her emotions until she is able to be okay with them. While a lot of this book’s pacing and tone feels cozy and I really loved that (I curled up and enjoyed it over the course of a week or so, coming back to it again and again), Rafe and Ana heat up in this book in terms of their relationship! Ana is still overcoming trauma and that impacts her sexually, too, but these two are setting the pages on fire this time around. I loved the swirly gowns, the special dinners, the cursed objects and moments of suspense, and of course the thrilling ending that left me needing book three! 5/5 stars.
