Rajesh lost both his legs and right hand when he was young. During his first day of school, Rajesh is afraid of other children making fun of him for his disabilities. Throughout the school day, he grows and learns about other children and the children do the same for him. He makes new friends with the children at school and they all love and care for one another during classroom instruction, recess, and discussion time. They also talk about comparison of one another and "what would it be like if everyone in the class were the same". They each answer that being different isn't a bad thing and that diversity is what makes each of us special. At the end of the book, Rajesh knows and realizes he do almost anything anyone else can do.

I find this book to be really motivating and inspiring because Rajesh can do anything he wants to do despite his disabilities. He doesn't let his physical handicap prevent him from interacting, enjoying, playing and learning with other children in the classroom. I'm happy that those with debilitates can accomplish big goals like what normal can accomplish and do. And it shows that people with disabilities aren't automatically deficit in all areas of skills, but in certain sections of skills that enhances other skills with a disability. All in all, it's an great enjoyable book I love to read and I can use this book to discuss disabilities and the importance of difference.… (meer)
