Keewaydinoquay begins with her training by an Anishinabe healer, which was interrupted (most of her younger years were covered in her book "Stories from my youth"). She speaks of her drive to get an education and professional acceptance in the white world, her experiences as a teacher. More briefly she goes into her life as a mother, as an abused wife and as a single parent.
She presents herself as someone interested in helping all people learn rather than on any focus on her specific tribe or Native peoples in general. However, we do know from a few comments that she had a role in native groups--this just isn't part of this book.… (meer)
