Sue Kenney

I've had this book for a long time, and in that time I've also become friendly with its author, Sue Kenney. I have to admit I'm not one for the whole universal love stuff, or other new age belief.

Still, when I attended a talk by Ms. Kenney, she got me interested in her Camino journey enough to purchase the book.

And I must admit, I really enjoyed the book. Yes, it got a little too spiritual, a little too new-agey at times, but that's Sue, that's her beliefs and I accept that. On the other hand, it's just a great book about a woman bravely facing her fears as well as a crazy, 780 km trek in a foreign country. Not quite as saccharine as [b:Eat, Pray, Love|19501|Eat, Pray, Love|Elizabeth Gilbert|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1294023455s/19501.jpg|3352398], but in the same vein, it's also the story of a woman searching to define...or maybe redefine herself.

And, for me at least, I loved the story of Bernie, the dog. Loved it.

One thing from an editorial note, it seems like the book was edited by two different people because the first third seems rife with comma splices, while the second has a dearth of them. But this is a minor quibble for a great book.… (meer)
