very engaging story
I really wanted to give this more but, with no warning, the book pretty much ends with seriously non-sexy spanking which pretty much ruined the entire thing. NO WARNING. This is a serious NO GO for me, and I will have to seriously reevaluate reading this author again. Those that rely on hitting to be erotic, are suffering from a serious lack of creativity. I cannot recommend this book.
Em and Mick – what a couple! Both are nurturers that need nurturing and might just find their perfect companion in one another.
I liked the fact that they were both mature adults with similar needs and yet neither is ready, willing or able to leap into an instant relationship. The slow build was great. Both characters are there for one another as friends before they become more. Both have flaws or issues that make them more human. The communication between Em and Mick was fun to listen in on. Em is assertive when she needs to be and yet giving and caring – just as Mick is. Both are well rounded with interests outside their friendship and willing to bring the other person into their lives bit by bit. Family, community service, friendship and so much more are present in this book with a cast of characters that makes me believe this could easily become the first in a series of wonderful books!
