Jake Kinzey

This is a truly awful book, and by the standards of zero (the publishers) that's saying something. The only one I have enjoyed so far is 'One Dimensional Woman', by Nina Power, who does have a brain and can write.
'Infinite Music' was rubbish and 'Meaning of David Cameron' simply a bad ripoff of Badiou's the Meaning of Sarkozy.
Now comes this slim volume at an unbelievable price of £9.99 (don't worry, I didn't pay for it). It works out at more than 10 pence per page!
Jake Kinzey is "studying history at McGill University" and perhaps he should have stuck to that rather than writing this undergrad essay of sprawling nonsense which claims to investigate hipsters but does nothing of the sort. Instead it's the sort of drivel which ticks all the predictable references - Zizek, Adorno, Sontag, Naomi Klein, Seattle, New York ... oh sorry I broke off and tried to eat my own brains.
I could churn out nonsense like that in my sleep.
