The wind narrates this story of the various things it does in each month, from flying kites in April to bringing rain clouds in August, stripping the leaves from the trees in October to tickling cheeks in March. Each two-page spread is devoted to one of the twelve months, with a spread at the end in which all are represented, with each month's corresponding illustration in miniature.

Originally published in Finland as Tuulen vuosi, A Year With the Wind was chosen as one of "The Most Beautiful Books of 2016" by the Finnish Book Art Committee. As expected, the illustrations are quite lovely, done in a minimal style that nevertheless communicates the energy of the wind, and its almost perpetual motion. Author/artist Hanna Konola's text is likewise minimal, and didn't quite impress me as much as her artwork, but this is still an engaging picture-book exploration of the wind through the months and seasons of the year.
