I always know I'm in trouble when a book opens with a dream sequence . . .

To decompress from the tension from last volume's events, Yoon Bum and Oh Sangwoo go on some dates to an amusement park and a ski slope. So they're messed up relationship is in our face the whole volume, except for those times that Oh deals with his mommy issues.

It's all sort of boring and depressing, and I don't care about any of the characters now. I'm going to set this series aside, but I might come back if I hear it has reached a conclusion.

The increasing audacity and sheer number of shock value scenes -- so much stabbing, so much rape -- of this thriller series is starting to wear on me.

The cat-and-mouse game between the serial killer, the Stockholm Syndrome victim, and the police officer, Yang, escalates to physical confrontation as Yang goes completely off the rails in his investigation.

Actually, what really got me down about this volume was the closing chapter: a 67-page dream sequence. I hate dream sequences.

I have another volume on hand from the library that will decide if I continue or give up on this series.

The events of the last volume have left a corpse for disposal. Some family secrets are revealed that explain a bit of the bizarre behavior of these very messed up characters. And the police continue to circle about on their trail.

Still tense, still nauseating, but also starting to feel stretched out.

This book had a lot of backstory, but still enjoyable. I'll definitely be reading volume 3 when it comes out.

So, if you're already on book 4 of this, you know all the warnings. This was a wild, fucked up ride. The suspense was dialed up to ten in this book, and I binged the entire thing just to see how it would end.

As the police officer starts sniffing around the main villain, it suddenly struck me that he is Officer Pup and this is a very weird retelling of George Herriman's Krazy Kat comic strip. But with a higher body count and fewer laughs. As in Krazy Kat, even the presence of law enforcement can't keep the hunter from stalking his next prey.

Dark and depressing and still descending deeper into darkness.

A big ol' torture porn/psychological thriller that has an obsessive stalker crossing paths with a serial killer. Kinda gross, kinda good.

I hadn't even heard of this book until it turned up as a nominee for the 2022 Goodreads Choice Awards Best Graphic Novels & Comics. I asked my library to add it to their collection so I could finish reading every single nominee in the category. Now I'm asking my library to get the second volume so I can see how just how dark this can get.

Just finished part 1 of season 1. I can see that this is definitely going to be dark and not for those who can't handle nudity, blood and torture. I don't recommend this to everyone for sure.
Update— finished all the parts of Season 1. Wow, that was intense. Some parts were difficult to get through because of the horror in much detail, but I was too hooked to stop. It has loads of mind fuckery and very adult content.

Soooo dark and twisted.
It's like a train wreck.
So gruesome and tragic, but the morbid curiosity won't let me look away.

Sangwoo is a very twisted and complicated psychopath. I love stories that have very complex villains. Yoon Bum isn't much of a hero, but his innocence is a nice counterbalance to Sangwoo's madness.

Such a heartbreaking ending to probably one of the most twisted things I've ever read.
I think the finale was a perfect wrap up to Sangwoo and YoonBum's twisted relationship.
So sad and and powerful.

I am a big fan of Koogi and I am a bigger fan of Killing Stalking.
I don't know what this says about myself as a human being. I can't recall ever reading a manga/manhwa/manhua so dark, twisted and bloody as Killing Stalking. It represents the darkest depths of human insanity. Both Sangwoo and Yoon Bum should be locked deep underground a highly guarded mental facility, preferably as far away from each other as possible. I can't ship these two. I can't. It's as if shipping Hannibal Lecter and Oliver Twist. But I'd lie if I didn't admit my heart pounded for Yoonbum when Sangwoo showed the smallest sign of ... warmth? what the bloody hell was wrong with me?
Why the 5 stars?
This manhwa made me stare in the eyes of the abyss and watch as the abyss stared back at me. It made me feel as if my soul became more tainted with darkness, chapter after chapter. I should have put it down after the first murder, or the next, or the next, but I couldn't. The first season went by, then the next season.
Now as I'm waiting for the 3rd season to be published I can't help but wonder if I've sold my soul to the dark side while reading this comic.
Killing Stalking was the hardest thing I've ever read and yet couldn't PUT.IT.DOWN.
I am horrified with myself...and aghast at how much it has jaded me in front of other abusive stories.

definitely not my usual genre, and sleep did not come easily after having read this, as some parts were very disturbing and explicit. but i loved the psychological part of it and it was genuinely very interesting and intriguing, and also beautifully drawn. probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone squeamish or easily disturbed, though.
personally i did not feel that it glorified anything that happened in the story, and it was definitely not meant to portray a healthy relationship or anything. it's interesting cause for the most part i was just hating on sangwoo and waiting for bum to get out of it somehow, but then by the end, when i realised that they're both as messed up as the other, i thought maybe they're better off together?
i don't ship them by any means, but at least if they're together they possibly won't hurt other people, and i kind of want them to become.... equals?? kind of?? maybe?? i don't know i just hate seeing bum get hurt. eh.
that's just my opinion, and of course everyone is entitled to their own. i thoroughly enjoyed it and i will definitely continue reading it.
