Great Russian perspective of the B-29 vs MiG-15 over Korea. If you are a casual reader or are offended by views that may run counter to what you believe, or don't like reading about American combat loses, this may not be a book for you. The authors are dispassionate for the most part. Some readers may not be. By way of example, they describe the start of the Korean War as the North Korean response to shelling by South Korea. There had been shelling and small skirmishes along the border for quite some time, but the authors choose to ignore the fact that the North Koreans had been massing on the border for some time. There is little doubt that eventually one country would have invaded another as Sung and Rhee were both agitating for war. The authors do acknowledge that South Korea was not equipped for anything other than dealing with Guerrilla/insurgencies. I will leave it to other readers to make up their own minds. Highly recommended as a unusual chronicle of the air war over Korea and one that finally puts a face on the "Honchos" for the western reader.… (meer)
