Verghese Kurien

What a book, and what a man! I may sound sentimental, but I really do admire the man, especially after reading this book. Verghese Kurien started off by talking about his early life, and it is indeed interesting that he started off in Anand by accident.

He clearly, and simply, talks about his early influences, and his admiration for Tribhuvandas Patel comes through.

The manner in which the Amul brand was built is amazing. The story of how the co-operative at Kaira came about is stirring. The story of the NDDB is brilliant.

We have achieved so much, and yet there is so much to do. The man was brilliant. His commitment is amazing. They stayed with the original principles, and this is admirable.

A book written in a very simple style, which makes it easy to read.
