Prior to coming to the United States in 1970, he made a seven month tour through Malasia giving clinics and teaching special classes under the sponsorship of the Korean Judo Association. He came to the United States in 1970 as an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Reinhardt College, Georgia, and is now at Nichols State University, Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Mr. Lee is a committee member of the National Collegiate Judo Association, Board of Examiners and technical Advisor for the Dixie Area Judo Association. He is Vice-President of the American Collegiate Karate Coaches Association and chairman of the Collegiate Committee of the National A.A.U. Tae Kwon-Do Association.
David Hale Wayt, is a student of Mr. Lee's who began the study of Hapkido in 1972. He became interested in self-defense and could not find books available in the English language on Hapkido techniques at the time, which led to this collaboration. Mr. Wayt has been active in fencing for the past 18 years and is a member of the National Fencing Coaches Association of America.
