I found this an interesting read at times though the author does tend to be a bit brief and skims over some topics. Overall I found it a good 'toilet book' which I could dip in and out of whenever I was so taken.

The author of this book wants very much to be erudite and witty. Sometimes he succeeds. The most interesting chapters are the ones about human culture and practices. Worth reading if you can tolerate the pretentious style.½
