I read SIncerely, Dane by Ilsa Madden Mills and this short story was such a sweet read.

This is a cute and fun novella that is part of anthology and I hope will eventually be a full length story. Dane and Piper went to school together from high school on and now that Dane’s twin bother is married to Piper’s best friend they end up spending a lot of time together. Piper has always crushed on Dane but believes he has her firmly placed in the friend zone that she just accepts their relationship as is until one night a text makes her think about more. Dane hasn’t had it easy in life, he derailed at one point, and his relationship with Ari fizzled out because deep down I truly believe he’s always felt like Piper was his. In this story Dane comes to Piper’s apartment dressed as a werewolves and so the chaos ensues. He recruits her to help with a scavenger hunt that ends with an epic ending/beginning. The tension between them was tangible, the chemistry off the charts, and the can they will they flowed off the pages. I rally hope we get more of their story!!

This was really good but does have cheating in it...FYI. I really don't care to read books where the H is a man whore who uses a crap childhood as an excuse to hurt the h. Technically the first time they were just "friends" but it still hurt Danika. The second time they had a fight but he knew she was in love with him. Anyway, it was so far into the book I felt I wanted to finish it. It was really well written with lots of steamy sex. It kept my interest and had me thinking of the story when I wasn't able to read it. I feel it deserves the 4 stars for sure. I'm not sure I'll read the next as there's just a bit more angst than I like in a book.

The final book in this series focuses on the two males in the series James, and Stefan. Basically it starts before the epilogue in the previous book (without giving it away) and tells the side of James while he reflects on his life and the events that are in the previous books. In the previous books of this series they always were told in the first person POV of the heroine, Bianca. This book opens with James discussing the 4 times his life has been transformed - the third being the time he met Bianca. So he reminisces his POV of their meeting and other important scenes from the other books that we had only seen from Bianca's POV. Additionally, Stephan is given his own voice and he goes into how he an Bianca met and became inseparable. Also, we see his and Javier's relationship grow

Once we "catch up" to current events (about 100 pages) the book moves towards and past the epilogue of the previous book and settles down into a couple of arc's that include James' problem with a bodyguard that has taken a liking to Bianca, and a problem secretary that James has to deal with

There isn't any real drama or tensions in this book but it does follow the couple into their twilight years, but not really. Only said that James loves his wife and that their relationship grew and strengthened over the years, and decades.

If you have read the previous books in this series you need to finish it with this one.

Two More Days

*A note before you slog through all of this. 1) I only listened to some of the stories. I skipped unfamiliar authors due to time constraints. B) I'm leaving this long mostly blank list as I had a hard time finding a list of the story names and authors so hopefully, I can save someone else a little time.

Tequila Mate - Author - Stars - Character Names - Review/Thoughts.

Always Cake - Max Monroe - 3 Stars - Emily, Austin - Two best friends born on the same day. They celebrate their birthdays together every year and on their 24th the night goes further than planned. Now it’s their 35th birthday and they have decided to honor the pact they made when they turned.

Confessions - Lora Richardson - Stars - Character Names - Review/Thoughts

Heels Over Head in Love - Willow Aster - Stars - Character Names - Review/Thoughts.

Second Summer - Laurelin Paige - Stars - Character Names - Thoughts/Review

Protected - Dr. Rebecca Sharp - Stars - Characters - Review/Thoughts.

The Vanished - Jennifer Wilson - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

The Shelby - Jewel E. Ann - 3 Stars - The issue with this being an audiobook is I forget names quickly - I wasn’t expecting his tale of revenge. It was indeed sweet.

Sunshine Rae - Kandi Steiner - 2.5 Stars - Parker and ? - Just an okay story. Nothing mind blowing, just angst about being in love with your best friend who is about to propose to his girlfriend. It’s been done before and done better. Also, I didn’t really like the narrator as she sounded very juvenile.

From Friends to This - SERIES INFO - Dominique Laura - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

The Kiss - SERIES INFO - M. Robinson - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

Stone Heart - SERIES INFO - S. J. West - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

Without Yesterday - Lexi Ryan - 2.5 Stars - James Cooper, Krystal aka Kris, - Honestly this I’m in a relationship but super attracted to someone else bit is not my thing. It was well written and there was no cheating, but I didn’t like the vibe.

Good Girl Gone Bad - SERIES INFO - R. K. Lilley - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

Of Potions and Poison - SERIES INFO - Chanda Hahn - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

Pineapple - SERIES INFO - Leia Stone - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

Sincerely, Dane - Ilsa Madden-Mills - 3 Stars - Dane and Ava - A cute story. I loved the scavenger hunt and how it didn’t end the way I expected it to end.

Dark Eyes - Karina Halle - 3 Stars - Amethyst, Wolf, Shannon, Ezra - It was nice to see a PNR twist in the middle of all the contemporary stories in this anthology. This was an interesting examination of who the real monsters are. This world shows me more and more of that every day.

What If… - K. Bromberg - 3 Stars - Shiloh ”Shy”, Jake - I liked the set-up of this second chance even if it involved one leaving their fiancé (who we could all tell was wrong for her)

When It Happens - SERIES INFO - Micaela Smeltzer - Stars - CHARACTER NAMES HERE - REVIEW/THOUGHTS HERE

F*ck - Tijan - 3 Stars - Tysan Koda, Kase Crow, Aiden - Why did I find this story so hot. At first, I was disenchanted by the thought of another jerk hero but that somehow melted away.

The Dress - Colleen Hoover - 3 Stars - Can’t Remember the Names - A woman chooses herself over a superficial man. It was okay. I think I am fatigued from all of these stories.

New Adult Contemporary Romance
First let me say I am being generous with the 2 stars. Trust me on this! I have 18 notes that I made public on my Goodreads about this book. It would have been more if I had highlighted every error, typo, redundancy, awkwardly worded descriptions, borrowed scenes and borrowed characteristics.

The borrowed areas are so obvious, I can literally name the books and characters that they came from. Unfortunately, these characters traits, etc. were not well blended into the personalities of the characters in this book. This makes both main characters feel fractured and hard to understand.

There is way to0 much unnecessary information that bogs down and interrupts the story. Yet, not enough important information to make you care about the main characters.
There are some redeeming qualities to this story. But they are few and far between.

This book bored me so badly that at 42% I had to set it aside. Or dnf it.
It is slow moving and has quite a few other problems.
I did manage to eventually finish it.

I love anthologies. This one was really unique because of how each story started. It was interesting to see them all take a different approach to their story that fit into a plethora of romance subgenres.

The premise was good, two people in a marriage by arrangement, modern day.
The Hero feeling forced into this arrangement, his father controlling a lot of the details.
The heroines motives seemed less desperate.
This just didn't work for me.
I could have handled the so called Hero sleeping with his ex after the marriage, not that I am saying it's right but he doesn't view it as a real marriage, he's hung up on his ex, he goes away for around a month after the wedding BUT.... he had sex with the heroine on their wedding night, then leaves her and spends time with his ex.
He would have been a cheat either way but it wouldn't have been so hard to take if he hadn't consummated his marriage I think I may, just may have been able to accept redemption for him but as it stands no.
He is hateful to her right throughout until the very last minute when we get about 20% of his regrets.
Many authors have written this troupe, hateful Hero forced into marriage, hung up or hurt by other woman in his past but this just doesn't work, not for me anyway.
Ex drama.

DNF at 16%

I was having second thoughts around 1%, again around 5% I tried, i really tried.

What we have here is a man who got possessive before any relationship. A man who stuffs his tongue down the heroine's throat after she says no to seeing him repeatedly while she's working. A gay best friend (assuming this is because it makes him a "safe" outside person for her to interact with) who outs the virginity of his best friend before any relationship is established Oh heavens, a virgin. A best friend who allows the hero to take the heroine to her room while piss drunk.

And then the hero declares he'll be taking her virginity, and she'll only ever be with one man. We're at 16% here.

And then he says she needs birth control while she's drunk and he's escorting her to her hotel room.

And then I'm done.

What happened to the Salt family was heartbreaking. No parent should have to bury their child. The real tragedy however is that what should have united them broke them apart. Lacey is the real casualty because in one fell swoop, she lost her brother, mother and father. Her sense of security was broken and left her spiraling out of control. Fire and Rain sees Lacey trying to get her life back on track by owning up to her mistakes and working to move on from them. There is so much going on this series that some great characters get lost in the shuffle. I hope to see more of Lacey in future reads.

2.5 stars

This duet series has me seriously conflicted. I believe there is a good story there.. but it just didn't really work for me in this form. I think it would've been much better as one book with some stuff cut out. It felt like it needed more editing - for example, why was it mentioned soooo often that another character was nice. Maybe it was on purpose to set her apart from the nice people, but it just took me out of the story and it interrupted the flow of the story. If I hadn't already bought the second book in this series I probably wouldn't have bothered with it. The first book just doesn't really make any sense or provide a backstory for the ridiculous behavior and it didn't really hold my attention.

This book was a little better. Some information is revealed and things start to make a bit more sense and I didn't hate them as much. There are some twists and surprises, none of them were big shocks however. Especially the last 'twist' was quite predictable. I'm not going to give anything away, but I will say that this book was full of awful things and I found it be quite depressing and that wasn't really what I was looking for at the moment.
But it was an interesting story and I think I would've liked it better if it was more 'together' and if made more sense.

I think it's most likely just me, since there are dozens and dozens of positive reviews. So give it a go for yourself :)

1 star? 2 stars? 3 stars? I have no idea how to rate this one. After finishing this book I still have no idea what the F I just read.

The story is all over the place, nothing makes sense, the only likeable characters are her friends. Friends who are apparently very nice and sweet, considering it's mentioned several times every time they appear.
I did enjoy the bits about their past. Which I odd, since I usually dislike that. But maybe it's mostly because of the mess that the present was.

** spoiler alert **As Celeste goes further down the slippery slope of depression, Lacey begins to realize all the ways she contributed to the mess in place. Travis continues to comfort himself at Kristin's expense. Marcus and Britanny struggle to find common ground, the presence of his father making things even more stressful. Chase and Anna Mae find that their love never died but the secrets they hold within may be the last nail in the coffin.

ARC provided in exchange for and honest review.

“I will put you over my knee every time you lie to me, Bianca.”

He’s joking. Isn’t he? No dear Bianca I am fully confident he is not joking.

So first of all I love James and his whole intense, and secretive personality. He seems like he feels so intensely. For only knowing each other for a week he seemed to have some major feels for Bianca.

Now for Bianca, I liked her enough but at the same time some things really bugged me. The fact that she seemed to fly of the handles and get drama and put her walls up at the first sign of trouble. That bugged me women like that annoy me.

Stephen was by far my favorite in this book, he was such a fun outgoing person. I loved his relationship with Bianca. Seemed like they are even more than best friends and family. Like it's a deeper connection than that (not in a romantic way) more like a guardian angel kind of way. I loved to see how he protected Bianca when James came after she left his Penthouse. Along with the fact he never left the hospital after her dad came for her.

So the end of this book irritated me with the cliffhanger, thankfully I don’t have to wait for the next book! Will they fix their issues? Mend their relationship? Fall in love? (which I think they both already have)What will happen to her dad? Will the truth come out about what he did to her mom? Will James issue a statement and be seen publicially with Bianca? Will Melissa get what is coming to her?

So many questions!!!!

“You’re my angel, Bianca. You’ve exorcized my demons. I don’t have nightmares when I’m with you. I don’t have to work seventy hour work weeks to keep my mind distracted. My life has become more than work and emotionless affairs. You make me a better man.”

I liked this book a little bit better than the first. I really enjoyed seeing Bianca and James relationship blossom. The beginning I got really annoyed with Bianca’s wishy-washy view on their relationship.

I really liked to see James open up a little bit more about his past and I liked to see him “show off” Bianca instead of hiding her away.

I feel like there is so much more to James that we still need to learn.

So this one was by far my favorite of the series. Perfect conclusion to James and Biancas story, along with some other secondary characters as well.

Their relationship and truly been a rollercoaster. James sex tape, Bianca’s crazy father, James crazy ex’s (and those who like the think they’re exes but are actually delusional)

Seriously best scene was the proposal….. I about cried

“I wanted you to have a perfect view of the world that I want to lay at your feet, my love,”

“Say it, Bianca.” “I’m yours, James.” “Forever,” he added. “Forever. Oh yes, I’m yours forever, James.”

I feel like maybe the beginning or first half dragged on but once we got to the last 50 pages, holy hell better hold on.

So first of I love that we not only got things from James POV but also Stephen and Frankie and Tristan. I liked seeing more of the secondary characters we didn’t get as much of in the first 3.

Frankie is by far one of my favorites, badass chick right there.

Stephen of course is my favorite other than Mr. Cavendish by far.

One thing I really enjoyed was seeing Stephen and Javier get “married” it was beautiful and I was glad he got his HEA.

I also enjoyed seeing some things from the first 3 in James POV. Made it a little more interesting and we got to learn a little more about him.

For having so many POV I loved that it was easy to follow along. Usually so many POV are confusing.

We get to see more of the Salt and Alvarez families in this book. Dakota’s obliviousness is almost unbelievable though perhaps she is starting to wise up. Joanne is in a bad situation and I hope she comes out of it well. These books are blending well together.

Pokracovani dramatu miliardare Jamese a letusky Bee.
A on? DEvkar a vedle ni zarli i kdyz ji pomaha do sedla jeho konsky trener!:D

This is more of an optional book to the series. It's more of James and Stephan's perspective on the past and present (after the events happened on Grounded). Also, we get to see the perspectives from other side characters in the story. It's a quick read and I finished this in one sitting. I still enjoyed this book as a last hurrah.
