Surprisingly good. That's condescending af but this subgenre is something. Very unique alien race and technology and not a thinly veiled ripoff of Star Wars.

This was refreshing! Excellent world building and character development. I loved how the differences between the species, humans and askari (aliens). were truly brought up to light.

I did not loved this book as much as I did the first book. However, we get to know more details about what’s happening to Tori and her transformative body changes. This book is also the “ending” of Toris and Aderus relationship and they do get there “HEA” just not the way HEA typically end.

Interesting alien world building.
Quite unique.
Ends on a cliffhanger.
