This book had so much potential and I wanted to love it. I am so impressed with Bree and her fellow Mountain rescuers. I can't imagine making such a commitment, especially as a volunteer. The memoir was full of so many stories of rescues (or sometimes just bringing the body down) that they all began to seem the same. I wanted to feel the action instead of just read about it like a news article or a diary entry. I live in the Pacific Northwest so I appreciated hearing about areas close to home. Perhaps if I was a rock climber I would have cared more about all of the little details. But as more of a reader, I wanted to feel the excitement and/or pain of these mountain rescues.… (meer)
