This may be one of the most personally rewarding books I've ever had the pleasure of reviewing!

The very first story Loren Loving shares in When Jesus Answers had me in tears. My husband and I began reading the book together while we processed the pain of my youngest daughter choosing to move to her dad’s, and the pain of our first foster placement leaving around the same time. Dealing with our own pain and reading Loving’s words was incredibly moving and touched my heart deeply.

By the end of the second chapter, my husband and I were both already recommending When Jesus Answers to almost everyone we talked to. We wanted to share our experience we were having reading and singing our way through the book because it was so encouraging and uplifting for us!

The most unique quality of this book is the way it uses music to connect heart and mind on the healing journey. To be honest, at first, I found it rather odd that as you read through the chapters you come across song suggestions to listen to and sing with. It didn’t take me long though to start looking forward to the next song.

I only have one real complaint about the book. Most of the songs recommended in the book are supposed to be found on YouTube, where you can pull up the lyrics and sing along. Unfortunately, there were a couple songs we had a hard time finding and it kinda pulled us out of the headspace we were in while reading.

I would recommend this book for anyone trying to make sense of a painful time in their life, or who might be struggling to see God through all their pain. I’d also recommend it for anyone who’s already made it through to the other side… so I guess I’d really recommend it for anyone!… (meer)

This book is unlike anything I've ever read and I was so comforted and inspired by each and every word written within.

This book is not a fast read, by any means, but it's one to be savored and enjoyed as the author shares Scripture and her heart throughout these pages. She shares her own journey of feeling unloved, rejected and worthless from her childhood forward and how she thought by being a good girl would help her to feel loved. I liked how she shared her heart and was so open - it made me feel like she knew what it was like to go through hardships.

I enjoyed how the author combined Scripture with praise music. Combining both of these was so beneficial to my heart and I loved the songs she shares. Some were new to me and, as I do listen to music as I study the Bible, this was truly a balm to my heart.

This is a book I will return to again and again as there is so much to be learned through this book. It's a book that shares Biblical truths in a way that reminds me that I am truly loved by God. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Instead of being molded by God's love, our value and purpose are influenced by the actions, opinions, and judgments of imperfect people. Our once tender, spiritual heart, created to be so sensitive to the sound of our Father's voice and the feelings of the love and peace of His Presence, became imprisoned to the lies of the enemy. Every Christian needs guidance to return to God and experience His very presence. Worship means so much more than turning to God in times of trouble, He answers our prayers through His written word (the Bible), the spoken word (the Holy Spirit, prophecies, and creation.

When Jesus Answers: Returning to the Healing Mercies of God's Presence is a fine collection of steps in the journey back to God written by Loren Loving. And this lady loves music, and shares recommended songs to listen to and absorb, whether it's on nearing God, giving Him praise, calling the various names of God, expressing the mutual love, and so on. It is the first book I really had to bookmark all the passages where an artist or song was mentioned so that I could create a Spotify playlist of the content.

Jesus' answers not only uplift our broken hearts and minds but also benefit the world we live in. Loren Loving is very clear on the need to spread God's and answers to poignant questions to our neighbors, friends, and family. Study guides on thematic Bible passages are included.… (meer)
