Jill Lowry

After since I switch the concentration of the genres to books, from the genres I used to read/reviewed those that belong to the genre of nonfiction Christian books, my life got transpired. I got inspired to write my first two Christian fiction books. This, in turn, inspired me to start sharing the words of the Lord on the internet, for the Lord had touched me.

Before reading this book, I never imagined that it would be possible to be touched by the Lord a second time, especially since I was now in His service. However, after reading this book, I became enlightened that it is possible to touch the Lord a second time, and by it happening, my relationship with Him would get brought to a higher level.

Ms. Lowry, in her description for the book, writes:

"You have one life to live, so make the choice that Jesus desires for you in John 10:10, ["I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."]

As I continued reading from this point, I discovered that I need to become actively committed to this endeavor instead of doing it passively.

[11] "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep."
[12] A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don't belong to him and he isn't their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock."

Readers' revelation through this book's pages is their need to get touched by the Lord a second time to receive His blessings and His strength. While, it's marvelous to have the Lord as a simple part of your existence, why not have it all by getting touched by the Lord for a second time.

Being a rather voracious reviewer of nonfiction Christian books, I've given Ms. Lowry 5 STARS for writing this endeavor and her desire to have her readers take their relationship with the Lord to a higher level.… (meer)

This is the third and last of Minister Jill Lowry’s books I’ve had the pleasure of reading/reviewing. In writing this book I get the sense she wants to share the love she has for the Lord, the love she first had for Him as a young girl.

The reason I’m saying can be found in the titles she’s chosen for each of her books, each one deals with one’s love for the Lord emitting from one’s heart. While her last book offers prayers for the Lord involving a particular purpose, such as Prayers of Strength for His Power, Prayers of Grace for His Grace, etc., and her previous book containing a daily devotional for an entire year so as to ignite a spark for the Lord in one’s heart. Her debut Christian book had been written I believe as an introduction to the Lord, by individuals finding the undiscovered joy they’ve got for Him, by discovering the Lord's scriptural treasures of His Light and His Truth in their Hearts and Souls.

I believe this desire stems from the author’s days as a young Christian girl when she sang the song, “I’ve Got Joy, Joy, Joy.” Here are a few verses of the song if you’re not familiar with the song:

In this book contains, the author shares fifty-two inspiring devotionals partnered with beautiful color photographs and scriptures to encourage your heart. Given the number of devotionals that are being offered, I feel the best way to benefit from the book’s purpose is to read one each Sunday morning when one first gets up and before heading to services with one’s family.

In fulfilling the answers to the questions raised by the book’s description of:

Are you searching for more joy?
Do you believe that you can find joy?

As a rather voracious reviewer of Christian books, I see no reason for denying this book’s author, Minister Jill Lowry, the 5 STARS she justly deserves.… (meer)

While it’s one thing to love the Lord, it’s another thing to LOVE THE LORD. As Christians, you’ve been reminded in MARK 12:30 [NKJV]

“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.”

This can be a rather difficult task for which some sort of guidance is necessary in order to accomplish it, even for some devout Christians. And if this can be the case for them, just image the monumental task it is for those who are new to the faith; they’re like a newly born babe devoid of any knowledge of the Lord and His compassion and greatness.

While this knowledge is contained bountifully in the Lord’s scriptures, finding the correct one to enlighten one’s mind about the Lord and ignite the passion in one’s heart for Him each and every day of the year can boggle practically any mind. It is for this reason, I believe, this book’s author, Jill Lowry, has compiled it.

In compiling this book, Ms. Lowry has taken the Lord’s directive found in Deuteronomy 6:7 about teaching your children a step further by wanting to educate adults regarding being able to get closer to Him.

For each day of the year, Ms. Lowry starts off by giving the essence of that day’s scripture to form a title for that day’s scriptural selection, followed by the scripture, which culminates in her readers being given an insight to what the scripture concerns so they are able to relate to it much better. At the end of each month, she offers a prayer to the Lord, followed by a descriptive scripture concerning Lord himself and her reader’s relationships with Him.

For this book, I wanted to find a scripture that would be able to describe what I feel has been the ultimate intention of the author in compiling her book; and I found it. In the past, I would have stated that my finding it the way I have had been pure coincidence. But having read/reviewed about 150+ Christians books in the last 14 months, I believe this find has been actually planned, given that the scripture I found is for my birthday of January 15th, as it befits me quite well. The scripture for this day which reads:

Be Transformed
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

For wanting to transform the lives of her readers so they’ll be able a deeper, long-lasting relationship with the Lord. As a rather voracious reviewer of Christian book, I don’t hesitate is giving Ms. Jill Lowry, the 5 STARS she richly deserves.

As anyone who reads this book, they need to keep in their minds and hearts and remember what is written in Deuteronomy 6:5-7 [NKJV]

[5] You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
[6] And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
[7] You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

And as readers live each day in the above manner, they’ll come to the realization there’s practically nothing for which the Lord can’t be praised for allowing things to occur in people’s lives each day since there’s hardly a prayer that He doesn’t want to hear.

While children might offer simple, beautifully innocent prayers coming from their young minds and heart; adults need to pay heed to the fact that their prayers need not be small or meek, their prayers can be enlarged to any size which matches the strength of the prayer being offered and who is doing the praying. And as a person’s relationship with the Lord grows with each answered prayer, their faith will be increasing more and more alive.

If someone should doubt this possibility, they need to read JOHN 6:35 [NKJV]

“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
