Clarity is tired of having everything given to her and not earning any of it. She wants to know what it is like to work, actually work, and have to earn every dollar. She decides one night enough is enough she’s leaving the money behind and starting over. She’s getting a job, an apartment, she’s going to pay all her own bills with the money she’s earned and who knows maybe she’ll fall in love with a guy who wants her for her and not the money. She is quick to realize just how hard life is but I really did admire the fact that she stuck it out no matter how hard it gets. I even admired her father for her cutting her off when she made her choice so that she could know just how hard life truly is.

One of my issues with her just up and leaving the life she has always had is that it didn’t feel real. It didn’t feel like it was an issue she was having for a long time it felt like the idea just came to her overnight so she decided to just up and leave her life.

Clarity was pretty rude and judgmental and at times I just could not stand her. But in a way that made her believable because of the way she was brought up, it made sense for her to act that way. And Mason? Well he was pretty persistent about getting her to go on a date with him and he was a sweet talker. When everything going down with Clarity happened I wasn’t sure if I should trust him or push him over a cliff. Thankfully he was truly one of the only ones with Clarity’s best interests at heart. I also thought the skeletons in his closet were exaggerated because I really didn’t think they were that bad or even a deal breaker.

One thing about this book that I loved is that I never knew what was coming or whom I should point the finger at. I thought the author did an excellent job at that part of the story because I really was second-guessing everyone and their intentions. The ending was not what I expected and I had to slowly piece together everything so that I could finally understand how the hell that happened. Overall, the plot was good, I just a couple minor issues with the story but other then that it was a pretty good read. Would I recommend? Sure!
