Thoughtful and erudite are these essays from the pen of a true Master of Masonic thought. Walter has historically been one of the 'great minds' of Freemasonry in Maine and those who truly listen come away invigorated and motivated. Born of practical, down-to-earth experience coupled with a true love of the Craft, this work is one which every Mason should read and thoughtfully consider. There are lots of books available today which tell you how the author feels Freemasonry could/should change (sometimes without any room for compromise) but Walter - with his relaxed style and homely presentation - leaves you, the reader, with deep thoughts to ponder about where Freemasonry has been and where it could go. Very highly recommended. (Disclaimer: I know Walter Macdougall personally and have been privileged to listen to this Master philosopher at length over more than a decade.
