Being a collection of aerial photographs taken from an ultralight and depicting patterns and markings in the terrain, as well as occasional manmade structures. On facing pages are captions of a sort, excerpts from literature, mostly poetry. I rarely think that poetry adds much to a photography book, but in the case I usually liked the poems better than the photography, which was a little abstract for my taste. It emphasizes matters such as shadows, contrasting colors, and patterns which have always interested photographers, but since I lack a photographer's eye, they rarely spoke to me.… (meer)
