A personal journey with bladder cancer opting for natural methods for treatment. Utilizing what God has so graciously provided each of us. Counsel on what the correct diet consists of ; herbs and plants for our well-being and healing. Comfort in all situations found in His (God's) message to us, the Bible.

Most would consider this a miracle cure, but in reality it is not. The power for healing with herbs and plants goes beyond their medicinal properties...all the glory goes to God. John Marra knows this and is a testimony to the power of the GREAT PHYSICIAN.
Faith, hope, prayer and obedience to and in God. If each of us would exercise these tenants what a difference it will make in our lives.

Thank you John for sharing your journey. May those who are confronted with life threatening illnesses and severe trials follow the example you have given..

John Marra has written about his personal journey with bladder cancer. He shunned the treatment plan created by his doctors and instead decided to forge his own path to healing through changing his diet and how he approaches stressful situations in his life. He is very religious and quotes the Bible on numerous occasions. I salute him for being a critical thinker and taking ownership of his own health.

When I was growing up, two family friends, both in their 40's, were unfortunately diagnosed with cancer at about the same time. One of them chose conventional treatment - surgery, chemo, radiation, etc. The other one chose some conventional medicine but relied mostly on natural, holistic cancer treatments. Sadly they both passed away, but the one who used natural treatments lived longer and had a better quality of life during treatment, even though her cancer was stage 4. It made a big impression on me, and I resolved that if I ever had a scary cancer diagnosis I would definitely investigate natural cancer fighting possibilities.

That is why this book appealed to me. The author tells the story of his cancer diagnosis and his treatment. He had some conventional treatment but rejected the surgery the doctor said might save his life. Instead he completely changed his diet and worked on dramatically reducing his stress level. He is completely honest and shares the bad parts along with the good. I thought his story was inspiring and would definitely recommend it - although I'm sure every cancer patient will not have the same results. But his approach could certainly help anyone fighting illness.

I gave this 3.5 stars instead of 4 because there is a lot of repetition. Also the author discusses his faith and religion and while I firmly believe faith can be a great help in times of trouble, I think the sections about religion might not appeal to all potential readers.
