This is an excellent, forensic and detailed investigate account of the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme or Cash For Ash which would ultimately lead to the fall of the Stormont Assembly administration in 2017. McBride demonstrates considerable journalistic skill in wading through all the details of the events and provides a dispassionate, ascerbic, blunt and at times humorous account of the Dup-Sinn Féin Administration aided and abetted by the Northern Ireland Civil Service and the Political SPAD Culture who allowed this gross waste of taxpayers money to go unchallenged for so long. The book should appeal to those interested in journalism, current affairs, politic and history. Given that the Stormont Executive has now been re-established it will be interesting to see will political journalists scrutinise it in as much details as McBride has lest any further scandals in the area of public finance develop.… (meer)
