I felt as if I had come home when I read this book. I recognized the characters, I heard the accents. I smelled the scent of the mountains in the morning, felt the shroud of the mountain fog. This is my family. It's not the best written book and things seem to happen too fast at times with details in the middle left out-but I still loved it!

Two young people, brother and sister, live together in Winder Holler. Their parents have died and they are on their own. But in holler life, neighbor helps neighbor so their life is good. When the sister becomes ill, a trip to town is required. It is their first trip out of the holler and their lives will never be the same.… (meer)
