Charles Albert McCurdy

An explanatory label is affixed to this ex University of London item, stating that `This volume belongs to a collection of books and pamphlets on the Great War formed by Mrs Humphry Ward, the novelist (1851-1920)...On the death of his wife the collection was given by Mr Humphry Ward to General Sir Neville Lyttelton and was presented to the University Library by Lady Lyttelton in 1931'. I came across it in a secondhand bookshop on the Charing Cross Road.
