As a fan of McCartney and Wings I enjoyed the book and some of the revealing passages. I did find the writing to be somewhat sloppy and repetitive. I found at least one error..a mention of 'Mitch Miller' as the drummer from the Jimi Hendrix Experience! It seems that many of the details and quotes had been culled from magazines and fanzines of the time period, with just a few additional interviews. I would have also liked to read more about ex-Wings musicians post-Wings career. Regardless, it was a quick read, and interesting.… (meer)

One of the best biographies I have read in a while. Although I knew the story of Seberg's life, Garry McGee has brought her to life within the pages of his book which makes the conclusion all the more shocking.

An American Dream that turned into an American Tragedy, Seberg was plucked from obscurity to appear in Otto Preminger's film of SAINT JOAN and BONJOUR TRISTESSE to critical indifference. Critical re-evaluation for her starring role in Godard's BREATHLESS led to an interesting career in both European and US cinema. However her interest in funding the Black Panther movement led to her being investigated by the FBI who planted a story in the US press that her pregnancy was the result of an affair with one of the black activists. She suffered a miscarriage and the baby died days later. After this her paranoia worsened and alcohol and mental issues led to her losing momentum with her career and she was found dead in 1979.

The events surrounding her death have always been shrouded in mystery and McGarry does his best to lay out all that is known about her last hours.

A sad but impressive biography.
