I was given this book by an acquaintance. My initial thoughts were, "eh, another self-help book repackaging Andrew Carnegie, yawn." But no, this book has been extremely clarifying to me. Nothing the author says is surprising, exactly, but it makes very clear the "real" way that work gets done in office environments. By being conscious of the more-critical-than-it-seems nature of issues like collaboration, visibility, and leverage, I've (I think) been able to promote my projects in a way that's good for me, the people I work with, and for the business as a whole too. Highly recommended to anyone who's work life is not quite going the way they want it to.… (meer)
