"Billionaire Lumberjack" by Gwyn McNamee

My Sentiments:

'Billionaire Lumberjack' is a well-written contemporary romance featuring Beau and Brooke, who both have secrets that were being held and not revealed, meeting during a snowstorm. We find that he was running and she was hiding. What will happen when it all comes out for these two complex people? Be ready for a read of mystery, suspense, and good chemistry together. To see if Beau and Brooke will find their way to a HEA, the reader must pick up this good read to see how the story will come together by the end.

Sweet romance

A beautiful story that makes one guess at what would happen. Artie & Penelope with little max was just a touching story. Totally loved it, couldn't put the book down at all.

I rarely like sports romance because I have a hard time relating to them because I am not a sports enthusiast (other than baseball). However, this book made me want to be one. I could see the passion behind the sport of hockey and why it seems to incite tempers on the Ice.

Sebastian "Bash" was definitely a hotheaded man. Hockey seemed to be a good sport for him to get that aggression out. At times his behavior seemed a little over the top but that might just be me and the fact that it was centered around sports. I liked Greer and the fact that she was a female coach. Coming off the most recent winter Olympics where the US team won gold, I liked that it showcased how important girls are in sports as role models for other girls/women. These two definitely had chemistry. There were parts of the story that seemed a bit rushed (the S person) and it felt a little contrived and out of place.

This is the first time reading this author but I will be sure to check out other books by her.

This series has been on my TBR for a while because of the covers alone. Add in the blurb and I was drawn to it. Having just read this author's upcoming book set in the Cocky Hero world, it reminded me that I needed to move it up on the list. I am regretting having waited to read it because this is amazing.

There is something about the way that this author writes. However, that is even more true in this book. I am not sure if it is the storyline itself, (modern-day pirates? Hell, YES) the suspense and tension/ or the strong characters? Or quite possibly, it is both. I appreciated War and his high intellect. It definitely was a message to not judge a book by its cover. Grace was fiery and even though these two should have never clicked, somehow, they did. As different as they were, they were also the same. I was drawn to that. The storyline was captivating and paved the way for introducing the other characters. The chemistry between the characters was definitely intense and although it is thought about it doesn't really come into play until about 75%. HOWEVER, when it does happen it is fire.

The only reason this didn't rank higher was because the ending stopped abruptly. Leaving a BIG question unanswered.

Holy crap, I was expecting this to get even better than the previous book but NOT this good. I was a little irritated with the first book that it ended with such a question in the balance. I didn't realize then that there was going to be an interconnected backstory that was going to be pivotal in each of these character's books. Now that I know that I am fully on board.

Cutter intrigued me in the last book. I wanted to know why he always wore sunglasses and why he seemed so cold and ruthless. I got the answers and then some in this book. My heart hurt for his pain. However, I also wanted to punch him a few times. Until Valentina got ahold of him and put him in his place. I liked that this little Italian fireball saw behind the mask, or sunglasses in this case, and called him on it. Their chemistry was off the charts. The sexual tension was intense until again later in the book but that just made it that much better. Definitely, had a few twists and secrets that I didn't see coming.

This author is gifted at creating a scene and making it come alive. I, especially love it when the title of the book makes sense also.

"He slammed into me like a rogue wave—suddenly, without warning, and with a force so tremendous, it knocked me from my axis and pulled me under, practically drowning me.”

I highly recommend this book. Even though it is centered on Cutter and Valentina the other character's past and future are playing a part in this story. It did end similar to the same way the first book ended but knowing that it will pick up with the story still going on in the next book I can appreciate it now.

It just gets better and better.

Everything about this series is amazing. From the solid writing to the connection between the characters, their loyalty, suspense, secrets, and an unbelievable foundation of a backstory that is interwoven throughout all the books it is no wonder that I am devouring these books back to back.

I liked Preacher. Even though he didn't have the same draw to him that Cutter had, there was something about his character that I was drawn to. There was a duality to him with his name and the demons he has. There really is truth to the Devil being at your back. I felt this with him. I also felt Everly and how she needed both sides of him, even if she didn't know to what extent she did. I liked that Jimmy saw that they both needed each other. Everly's backstory was heartbreaking. I enjoyed watching how this all fit together.

This book had a lot more humor in the bantering between the characters. It also had steamier times happen earlier in the book. However, it still worked into the story and didn't dominate it. This author can write some steam. Sweet holy hell...

Looking forward to the next book. I am not sure what I am going to do knowing that there is only one book left after it.

I'm a big fan of the author after discovering her modern-day pirate series. However, I struggled with this series. The transitions were fluid and several parts of the story I felt needed to be fleshed out in order to spare confusion and keep me interested. I almost didn't want to continue after the second book but luckily did so and somewhat got involved in the story again towards the end.

Even though this wasn't my favorite, I'm still a fan.

Holy hell.

I have devoured these books in the past two days. DEVOURED. The cast of characters, the interwoven backstory, the love, the connection, and the suspense had me enthralled. They had been on my TBR forever but with the newest release coming out soon I knew I had to move them up the list. I am very thankful that I did.

I loved E. There was something about him that touched my soul. His backstory was so sad. I was surprised at how I felt more empathy to him than I did Evangaline. That isn't to say that I didn't connect with her, considering what had brought her into the Gang's life, it would be hard not to feel empathetic to her. However, there was a pull to Elijah that I liked.

Great Chemistry and connections. I enjoyed the bantering between the characters. At this point, Cutter is still my favorite but all of these men are amazing. I am very excited about Rion's story and have a funny feeling that he might take over Cutter's top spot.

Off-topic, this series has some of the best covers that I have ever seen. Along with the premise of modern-day pirates makes this well worth the read.

I have been wanting Rion's story since he was introduced in the first book. There was something about him that intrigued me. I wanted to understand what kept him living in the darkness. This book finally gave me the answers I was seeking.

I was prepared for Rion to surpass Cutter as my favorite of this series. Sadly, he didn't quite make it to that top-notch. This book had all the twists and turns that I have come to expect from this series. However, I felt a little letdown. I wanted something more and it didn't quite take me there. Sure, there was a huge twist that I didn't see coming in regards to the connection between Orion and Gabriella. Yet, all the pieces fit too perfectly together (hacking after months of trying with no hope and then it FINALLY happens) and still left some things in limbo without a definite answer (bombing). One of my favorite things about this series is the group dynamics and how close they were to each other, but in this one that was missing. They were constantly fighting, and their humous moments were nonexistent. All of this combined doesn't mean that this wasn't a good book, it still was. However, it didn't live up to the rest and left me wanting more for a conclusion, especially, in regard to an ending. 6 months doesn't seem far enough in the future.

I liked this but still wanted more. It had all the bones to a great story but it felt rushed. I wish it had been more fleshed out instead of an Insta -love rekindling. That being said, still a cute holiday story.

Oh god, this was such a great sequel. I love Gabe, I think he is my favorite book boyfriend this year so far. And Dani, Dani is such a great match for him. She is such a spitfire. I can't wait to see the next story we get from Gwyn McNamee. I haven't read a bad one yet. I love the way she writes.
