I'm probably giving this a slightly higher rating (3.5) than it deserves, but I can't help replaying in my mind the film upon which it based, which is an excellent example of the noir genre and one of Bogart's thrilling turns as a thoroughly bad man.

It's a murder/crime-and-punishment story with a psychological twist. Although the ending is not unexpected, the journey there is worth the price if the ticket. It would probably be easier to watch to watch the film than to get a copy of the book (which is really more of a pamphlet).… (meer)
