David Thomas Murphy

David Thomas Murphy holds a PhD in history from the University of Illinois. He is the recipient of fellowships from several foundations, including the Stiftung Volkswagenswerk, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the Social Sciences Research Council. His previous works include two books-The toon meer Heroic Earth: Geopolitical Thought in Weimar Germany, 1918-1933 (1997) and German Exploration of the Polar World, 1870-1940 (2002)-and several articles. He is chair of the Department of History and Political Science at Anderson University, where he also serves as codirector of the University Honors Program. toon minder
