A pleasant story from the 1950s. A family moves to a suburban house and settles in with a collection of cats, dogs and guinea pigs, but not the horse 13-year old Jinny has been hoping for. Devoting herself to after-school pet sitting in order to fund her dream, Jinny makes lots of new friends both human and animal, learns to ride and even discovers boys. The road to horse-ownership is long but the journey is the thing that matters.
