Harutaka Nakawatari

There isn't much to say about the story of this book except of a boy waiting for his father to get back home. Even though the story is lacking, the pictures are breath-taking. I could stare hours at the pictures and not get bored. I don't know how Nakawatari did the paintings but they were stunning.

"The Sea and I" by Harutaka Nakawatari is a beautifully illustrated story of a boy who worries about his father who has been out at sea for longer than expected. The illustrations compliment the simple and and intersting story.

This book is about a boy who always watches his father go out in his fishing boat every day however this time a storm comes up and the boy is worried until he sees his father return. Though the illustrations were amazing I think the story lost something in the translation.
