This is the story of two young schoolchildren who meet by chance in a large furniture warehouse.
Robyn lives just around the corner from Sam’s new house, and they become close friends. Sam is mostly well-behaved but Robyn is quite mischievous, and tends to take the lead in their escapades. The five chapters, each complete in itself, include one about a cat's birthday, and one about a stick insect getting lost in a classroom.

It’s nicely written with some low-key humour that should appeal to most young children. The book is apparently intended for those aged five or six who have started school, and who are beginning to develop reading fluency. However I read it aloud to my three-year-old grandson who liked it very much. Some of the classroom antics went over his head, but he liked the book although he didn’t want it all read at one sitting.… (meer)

Summary:
A princess is born but is soon cursed by a wicked fairy. At the age of fifteen, the curse is lived out when the princess pricks her finger on a spindle and sleeps for a hundred years. At the end, she is awakened by the kiss of a handsome prince!

Personal Reaction:
This is such a classic fairy tale! A love story that all young girls dream about, being rescued by a handsome prince. We may all be cursed at some point in our lives but we will be rewarded in the end!

Extension Ideas:
1. Have students think of their favorite fairy tale and retell it in a creative writing.
2. Encourage students to research the fairy tale and see how many different versions exist.… (meer)
