The story was interesting....amnesia victim....2 husbands....that part was interesting. I didn't realize it was going to include detailed sex scenes. Not my style.

This book was ok. One would think that if you've been repressing memories for 18 yrs & having nightmares you would do something about it. But no, instead jump in bed with the new guy that everyone seems to think is vaguely familiar & don't take any hints when you've been threatened, had a dead body deposited in your house & get attacked. A lot of this book was easy to predict. Not worth checking out the rest of the series.

Awakened
4 Stars

With no memories of his past, Damon has spent the last 25 years as a slave in Aphrodite's Pleasure Palace. His one respite is his occasional assignment training new Siren recruits in the arts of war, strategy, and seduction. But when the newest recruit, Elysia, awakens in Damon dormant thoughts, emotions, and desires, they will have to decide if their love is worth angering the vengeful and manipulative gods who have their own plans for the pair.

Series note: This installment in the Eternal Guardians series continues from where the previous novella left off, and continues the ongoing Orb of Kronos story arc. It is, therefore, recommended that the books be read in order.

While the twists, turns and revelations of the plot are predictable, the romance between Damon and Elysia is sweet and sexy. They are both likable characters although Elysia's naivete is sometimes irksome, and their physical and emotional bond is intense and believable.

The cameos by the previous couples in the series is an added bonus as readers are able to catch up with their lives.

Looking forward to the next book and hope it will be published soon.

Unchained
2 Stars

Series note: This novella is #8.5 and relies on the previous installments for backstory. As such, it cannot be read out of order.

As is to be expected from a novella, there is not much plot to speak of and much of the story revolves around Prometheus and Circe lusting after each other.

One of the problems with writing about immortal characters is the fact that death is never a real possibility. Moreover, the descriptions of pain and torture do little to heighten the tension and suspense and do not enhance either the plot or character development. In fact, excessive descriptions of pain and suffering only serve to desensitize the reader.

In terms of the ongoing story arc, there is some development as Prometheus finally takes sides in the Argonauts' battle against the gods, and decides to help in the search for the final water element to complete the Orb of Kronos. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Ravaged
4 Stars

Daphne, a Siren-in-training, is tasked by Zeus with assassinating rogue Argonaut, Aristokles. However, Daphne soon comes to realize that there are deeper and darker secrets underlying Ari's apparent murderous sprees. Can the pair expose the truth before it's too late for the human realm's fiercest protector?

Series note: This novella in the Eternal Guardians series is part of the 1001 Nights project. It links between the previous Argonaut story-arc and the new arc focusing on the children of the original Argonauts.

Ari and Daphne's relationship develops rapidly, but that is to be expected given the shorter format. Nevertheless, they are both likable and have great chemistry and interactions.

The cameo appearance by some of the other Argonauts and their mates is an added bonus.

In sum, a short and sweet read with a delightful couple. It will be interesting to see if the surprising twist plays out in the next book.

Twisted
4 Stars

Elisabeth Naughton's Eternal Guardians is an excellent amalgamation of classic Greek myth and contemporary paranormal romance. In this installment, the focus shifts to Nick, son of Kronos and Atalanta, unclaimed bond-mate to Isadora and leader of the Misos. Incarcerated in the dungeons of Hades' son, Zagreus, Nick has finally met the woman who can soothe his internal darkness - Cynna. Unfortunately, she is also his jailer and torturer.

The ongoing arc revolving around the search for the final element to complete the Orb of Kronos is put on hold in this book, which is disappointing as I was looking forward to some closure in this regard. Nevertheless, Cynna and Nick's romance is more than engaging enough to compensate.

Despite the rather inauspicious beginning to their relationship, Nick and Cynna have a strong and appealing bond that weathers all obstacles. There is the potential for an annoying secret keeping trope, but Naughton skilfully avoids the angst inherent in this pitfall by writing mature and sensible characters.

All in all, this is an entertaining addition to the series, and the updates on the other Argonauts and their mates are an added bonus. Finally, it appears that this is the final book in this particular arc, and the next book jumps ahead 25 years to the next generation. I look forward to seeing how Naughton merges past and present.

Stolen Chances
3 Stars

Nine years following their devastating break-up, archeologist Maren Hudson and salvage expert Thad Leighton team up once again in search of an ancient relic. But the secrets of the past endanger their second chance at happiness.

While the romance and suspense plots have potential and Naughton's writing is as engaging as ever, the book contains two tropes that never fail to annoy, i.e., a secret baby and sexual coercion, which in this case is made even worse as the heroine claims to have willingly participated in the rape .

Nevertheless, Maren and Thad are an engaging couple and their passion both physical and emotional is intense.

Looking forward to reading more of Naughton's tales of romance, suspense and adventure.

Tempted
4 Stars

Descended from Jason and the witch Medea, Demetrius is the darkest and most secretive of the Argonauts. As a result of his secrets, Demetrius has built barriers between himself and others, especially Isadora, heiress to the throne of Argolea and his soul mate. But now circumstances have thrown Demetrius and Isadora together and they will have to overcome their differences if they are to survive the perils to come.

After a difficult start, this series is finally making strides and living up to its captivating mythology.

At the beginning of the series, Isadora was nothing more than a spoiled and pampered princess whose submissiveness inevitably resulted in the image of a weak and ineffectual woman who would be nothing more than a political pawn once she gained the throne. All of this changes in Tempted as Isadora finally comes into her own, growing both in confidence and power as the story progresses. My one small nitpick is she tends to spend much of her time, especially in the first few chapters, unconscious or sleeping while the action goes on around her.

Demetrius is the epitome of the grim, glowering and enigmatic hero whose internal conflict results in his distancing himself from those he needs the most. The twists and turns on his path toward confronting his personal demons makes for exciting reading and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat.

While the focus of the book is on Demetrius and Isadora’s engaging love/hate relationship, there are also some developments in the ongoing storyline pertaining to the Orb of Kronus and it will be interesting to see where Naughton takes this as the series continues.

I’ve been looking for a new series to read so I went to Goodreads to look up paranormal romance series that might interest me. I only read series that have six or seven books already written because I like to read one after the other and not wait a year for the next one. This one had a lot of the requirements that I desired like mythology mixed with romance. I decided to try it out.

This is the first book in the series so I knew the story would suffer a little while the author did some world building and character introduction but I think Elizabeth Naughton did a pretty good job of it while keeping me interested in the story and romance. This book is based off the story of Jason and the Argonauts or rather the seven original Argonauts and a realm called Argolea that Zeus created for them to live in along with their descendants. Argoleans can go between their world and the human world through portals but it is dangerous because their enemy, Atalanta, sends out her daemons to hunt and kill Argoleans and the Argonauts who guard them.

Theron is one of the Argonauts who guard Argolea. He is from the line of Heracles or Hercules as the humans call him. He goes to the strip club where Casey works as a server to retrieve the ailing Argolean princess who ran off from the castle in Argolea. The princess is there watching Casey for some reason.

Acacia or Casey as her friends know her works as a server at a strip club in a small town in Oregon. I liked this part because I live in Oregon. The town is obviously made up, at least I think it is, because I have never heard of it. When she leaves early from the strip club because she hasn’t been feeling well, she almost runs over what she thought was large animals eating something but then she realizes that the animals are actually evil looking creatures with animal-like heads and human bodies. They are attacking a man; the same man that bumped into her in the club and left with the petite blonde. She manages to save him. He refuses to go to a hospital so she takes him to her home to care for him and from there the world, as she knows it, turns upside down.

Theron is attracted to Casey and almost sleeps with her until he sees a birth mark on her. He realizes she is the chosen one from a prophesy which may mean that she has to die to save his people.

The story introduces a lot of people and even some gods like Hades and Persephone. It was a good read and I am curious to see what happens with the other Argonauts and the Argolean princess. I will probably read more of these books but I’m going to continue my search for a new series for now. I have a few other contenders that I am going to check out.

Very cool book about the Argonauts and those from that area and time. Cool inclusion of the Greek and Roman Gods into the book. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did (this isn't the genre I tend to read). Glad I did, thoguh, and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Great sequel to Marked. I liked the twist of Callia's importance to the entire story line and series. Part of me wanted to smack Zander on the side of his head for his stubbornness, but then I wanted to do the same to Callia at times. Overall, I really like them as a couple and look forward to see where the story goes next.

Still addicted to this series. Love the idea of a continuing tv type series. Quick reads with good characters. A little slow with the time line, but I guess that's the point of the episodes.

Zakara is the daughter of Zander, a mighty warrior of the Eternal Guardians and Callia a descendant of the Horae. Being from the same bloodline she and two of her female cousins are fated to do great things as part of the goddesses of Horae. But at 26 she hasn’t come into any of her powers and worse still she is confined to her home in Argolea. Zeus is her greatest threat to and she must never fall into his clutches.

But unbeknownst to her the man she has been dreaming of for the last few years is exactly the trap that she has been trying to steer clear of. Ryder a minor dream weaving god has been imprisoned by Zeus to do his bidding. He finds himself being drawn to the siren he meets in the dream he weaves. Together they fill a void in each other and he is determined to keep her safe. Soon he discovers that he doesn’t have much control over what happens in the dreamscape. And Zeus and his Amazons are close behind on their heels. Now he is willing to face the wrath of the king of the gods and spend the rest of his existence in hell but he’s no longer willing to let Zeus anywhere near Zakara.

Episode 3: Crosswinds by Elisabeth Naughton is so far the most scandalous of the series. Hurtful secrets start to come to light. Bad decisions start to be regretted. The impact on the children is revealed. In the wake of her brother Lacey is acting out and has become manipulative. So unlike herself. She sets her sites on the one boy that belongs to someone else. Each book in this series is better than the one before. This one hurt my heart because the whole time I'm reading it, I am thinking can the parents be so wrapped up in themselves that their not giving the children the guidance and support they need. I received an ARC of Crosswinds in exchange for an honest review.

I love it when I get the chance to read anthologies. One price, numerous authors and an assortment of pleasure are a good way to unwind. All He Wants for Christmas is a holiday read that has the right amount of temptation, holiday cheer and warmth that will get the holiday's jumping. Anthologies are great to read but hard to review because it is hard to pick a favorite. This read was no exception. Elisabeth Naughton, Cynthia Eden and Alexandra Ivy bring the dangerous dalliances that keep readers on edge.
While Katie Reus, Laura Wright and Skye Jordan supply bad boys that are enough to make any woman beg. I received an ARC of All He Wants for Christmas in exchange for an honest review. Naughty and Nice has been presented in a whole new way. Congratulations authors the big guy (SC) has nothing on you.
