Oh god. I finished it because I started it, but it was a slog.

This book is disappointing mostly because it is about Martha Stewart only through the eyes of the author. Ms Pasternak could have interviewed other friends of Martha in order to provide other points of view. Some of the "stories" she tells about Martha are judgmental and catty. It seems that Pasternak thinks she's a little "better" than Martha: better looking, better with men, etc. She even, for example, criticizes Martha's choice of perfume.
The book reads mostly like an autobiography of Pasternak with stories about Martha woven in. The book does not flow well, and does not keep the reader's interest, unless she is discussing Martha.… (meer)

I read as far as page 59 before returning this book to the library. It's more about Mariana Pasternak than Martha Stewart, and I have no interest in reading about Ms. Pasternak. An annoying thing about it was that she repeatedly referred to her "fiance" (she eventually married the guy), but she never identified him or provided a name. That is bizarre. (Maybe she names him later in the book). I suspect that most copies of this book will end up in the remainder bins.
