What a fun book! It may have been written for kids (Philip is in fourth grade and looking for a 'promotion' to fifth grade), but I think it has a lot of appeal for adults as well. Many of kids' observations, the way Philip and his friend Emery think, and how they deal with their issues not just ring true, but made me grin. Partly due to remembered emotions and partly because, looking at those situations now, my reactions would be so different.

If you're looking for a great kids book with traces of mystery and two adventurous, if somewhat naughty, boys, you will probably like this book. As for the 'moral' of the story: that, too, is worthwhile and applied very nicely.… (meer)
