Aside from being in need of a little more editing, and with going into too much detail at times, this is a great book if you are interested in the history of Nanaimo. It is actually well written and researched, and there are quite a few historic photos.

Sometimes tedious with the author's attention to overly detailed lists of names, but still gives some great insights into Nanaimo history.
