My fifth read from author Edita Petrick, very different than the Stella Hunter series I’d previously read, reminiscent of Iris Johansen’s Eve Duncan in its forensic sculpting. I'm a character reader, I get into the characters, their story, who/what they are. The author does a good job of painting the primary character quickly & thoroughly. I received this copy as part of the Library Thing Member giveaway. This is part one in a series and perhaps does not really stand alone, for there are many things left hanging for the next book(s) to answer, However, a good writer will satisfy the reader of each individual book in a series and yet make them anxious to read the next to come. Petrick writes well and as long as this is your type of story line where the supernatural is accessible at a price, then I recommend you read the Peacetaker series.… (meer)
