Motu-Iti fa parte di quei romanzi che mia madre ha salvato da morte certa e dei quali vi ho già parlato nella recensione de Il cucciolo. Confesso di averlo iniziato perché aveva poche pagine e mi sembrava un lettura leggera e veloce, ma di non essere stata per niente ispirata dalla trama, che mi dava l'impressione di un romanzo piuttosto insulso.

Be', ad oggi posso dire di aver preso una sonora cantonata. Motu-Iti è un romanzo straordinario, una perla rara che sono felice di aver recuperato. Si presenta come un romanzo per ragazzi, ma in realtà può essere letto e amato da chiunque.

In Motu-Iti, infatti, si incontrano la fiaba che vuole formare e il racconto epico che vuole tramandare un mito. La fiaba vuole parlarci del Bene e del Male, delle ingiustizie che posso colpire le brave persone, dell'invidia che può divorare tutta la nostra bontà, dei crimini che si possono compiere in nome della religione, della vendetta che distrugge e sfugge di mano, della necessità che un capo metta la sua gente prima di se stesso, dell'espiazione per le proprie colpe.

Il mito, invece, ci racconta di come e perché siano nate i moai, le famose statue dell'Isola di Pasqua. La spiegazione letteraria di Piumini è molto suggestiva e, grazie allo stile epico, assolutamente credibile (applicando una sana dose di sospensione dell'incredulità, ovviamente).

Appena finito di leggerlo con mia figlia di 10 anni..... che delicatezza, che poesia....
ma come si fa a 40 anni ritrovarsi con il magone mentre si sta leggendo un libro per bambini!?? anche qui,,,per bambini non è corretto, un libro proprio per tutti.....incantata dalle descrizioni dei paesaggi....
Scrittori e poeti si nasce.... sempre piu' convinta...

Just finished reading it with my 10 year old daughter ..... what a delicacy , and poetry ....
but how do you end up with 40 years choked up and in tears while you are reading a children's book ! ?? Also here ,,, children is not correct , a book just for everyone ..... Enchanted by the descriptions of landscapes ....
you dont' become Writers or poets, yu are are born with these gifts

Three stories about Bobbo the Bear. Very sentimental and childish (and sometimes unbelievable, such as the second story.) The illustrations are average at best, but there is a good amount of text here and as a reading lesson, it is pleasant and harmless.

Letto quando ero ancora una bambina di 12 anni e riletto oggi che ne ho 21. Non c'è paragone! E' un errore catalogare questo piccolo capolavoro come 'Libro per ragazzi' come se, avendogli attribuito questo titolo, un lettore possa aspettarsi una 'sciocchezza' con curata indifferenza. NO! Errore. Piumini è un poeta. Affascina i piccoli e coinvolge i grandi. Non c'è nulla da aggiungere.

The Tortoise and The Hare retold by Roberto Piumini is a classic fairytale story for young kids. Rating this book, I would give this book a four star. I think that this is a great book that’s cute and gives a good lesson for the young kids a good idea. However, the book is somewhat boring now that I read this book as an adult. As a child I remember that it was a lot more entertaining. This book is about a Hare that is kind of of a smarty-pants saying he is the best person ever and basically everything. One day he takes on a race with a tortoise only to find out that he loses. The point of this book was slow and steady always wins the race. While reading this book I was a little confused about some parts of the book and didn’t think they were needed in the book, but other than that I found this book very unique. The illustrations in this book were very simple and easy for the readers to follow along with. The colors throughout the book changed when the tortoise was being talked about versus the hare. In the classroom this book would be use full when the teacher is trying to explain the importance of patience. This book really touches on how important it is to take your time and concentrate so you know you will do a good job every time.

Ein wunderbares, manchmal ernstes Jugendbuch. Schön zu lesen, wenn die Geschichte manchmal auch ein paar traurige Zwischentöne hat, bleibt es am ende doch ein wunderbares lesenswertes Jugendbuch!

A classic story of Little Red Riding Hood with a some what different ending. Big, colorful illustrations on every page.

Bel libro che narra l'avventura di Narco degli Alidosi, conte di Castel del Rio, che parte alla volta della Turingia dal gran guaritore Antolfo per risolvere il problema del fiato che puzza di diavolo. Il fido Blabante lo aiuta nelle tre prove e sulla strada del ritorno Narco trova anche l'amore. Le splendide illustrazioni di Cecco Mariniello si sposano a meraviglia con il testo che imita un italiano medioevale.

Il libro raccoglie tre racconti (Il vestito migliore e La finestra di Alessandra, oltre a Il portatore di baci) che parlano di storie d'amore in cui l'intelligenza è premiata e vince su conformismo, violenza e ingordigia. I termini dolci e poetici e le atmosfere sognanti lo rendono adattissimo ai bambini e l'ironia lo rende interessante anche per i ragazzini più grandicelli.

Delicato e dolce. Da leggere a tutte le età.

It is very easy for devils to do evil things, like tying up train tracks in the hopes that people will die. It's hard for them, however, to do things like gather tea or make necklaces.

It's easy enough for them to blackmail other people into doing their, uh, "clean work" for them, though. Which is what happens.

The book is realistically frightening for some small children, including the part at the end where the devil is hit by a train and dies (ironically, while fixing the problem he'd created). Also I, personally, just didn't like the story that much. Nice illustrations, though.½
