Imagine an utterly addicting handheld device-- that doesn't require batteries. Perplexus is a set of twisty, color-coded 3D pathways encased in a clear plastic sphere, a bit smaller than a standard size soccer ball. Players must turn, twist, dip, and shake the sphere to coax a metal ball bearing down each pathway. Each path is different and incorporates new challenges; in one, players must swirl the sphere just right to guide the ball bearing through a spiraling circle. Although only one person can use the toy at a time, it can easily be turned into a social game by incorporating time limits or timing each player in a race. Each path is labeled with a set of imprinted numbers that point the player in the correct direction, though the numbers are the same color as the path and may be difficult to read from some angles. An excellent toy for practicing problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination. Players ages 5 through adult will not be able to put this one down. Recommended.… (meer)
