I hear many people speak highly of this book. However, I don't believe that one method works with all hurt kids. This has some great concepts but its approach will not cure every child.

The authors offer a different approach to difficult behaviors that stem from early childhood trauma. They propose empathy and reassurance in the face of misbehavior with the idea that children are acting out of fear, not out of a desire to manipulate or control. It is a different approach and has the potential for emotional healing. There are some personal experiences in the back of the book that illustrate ways to put this approach in action, and overall this book is short and easy to read.

If you have children, this is a must read. The author has been there, done that and gives a wealth of information on how to have a better relationship with your child. I know every child is different and what works for one may not work for another, but with this book guiding you, you will find your way to the answers you seek. This is not only a book for parents, it is a book for anyone that is involved with children.
