I was gifted this novel by the author for an honest review. I'm giving this story a 3 star review because I liked it. Let me start off by saying that these kinds of stories are right up my alley. A dysfunctional family is something that I know loads about and can relate to almost anything. But the story is so much more than that.

Frances is kicked out of her house at an early age and must grow up quickly and learn to fend for herself. It's something I did myself at seventeen and I have several friends who have done it as well. Like us Frances doesn't let anything get between her and her goals. Unfortunately I can't say the same for us. She was truly inspiring in that aspect.

The other thing that really got me in the story was her relationship with her sister. While it's not perfect I do believe that it kept her sane at some hard points in her journey. Again I can relate because my sister has been my rock through some hard times in my life. Their relationship was something I loved reading about and wished there had been a little bit more of.

I don't want to give too much away because I really believe that every young girl should read this book and I want you to do so without knowing what happens. But I will say that I wasn't sure I was going to like it as much as I did and I'm so glad that I took the time to read it. All you need is a good cup of tea and quite place for a couple hours to disappear into this world.… (meer)
